Russ Sainty 50 Years On

Welcome to my official web site. It's been a long time coming.

Russ Sainty signatureI hope it was worth the wait.

Love n kisses.

In July 1957 a good looking, clean cut squaddie by the name of Alfie Sainty was demobbed from National service after two years driving for the Royal Signals Regiment.

Completely obsessed by 'skiffle' music and the revolutionary new sound from the USA called Rock and Roll, Alfie headed for a local pub in Leyton called the Antelope. There he met The Buddy Monroe Five and within a week of their meeting he was lead singer.

It was decided that Alfie wasn't a suitable name for a rocker, so the girlfriends got together and came up with a new one. Thus Russ Sainty was born.

From pubs and clubs to radio and television. Russ, either solo or with the Nu-Notes, has been performing for 50 years and has worked with most of the major industry names.

Appearances on shows such as "Meet the Beatles", Saturday Club and Easy Beat showcased his voice to the world.

Still singing past the age of 70 and with seemingly no loss of power, this is one aging rocker who is set to run and run.
